Fear of AI is not one question. It can mean concern about a job, a convincing fake, private data or losing control of a powerful system. Trust can coexist with those concerns: someone may find an AI tool useful while questioning the company behind it.
This project measures expressions of fear and trust in the posts and news it collects. It does not measure how everyone feels, establish whether a news claim is true, or predict harm.
Fear & Trust Index: 54.7 / 100.
292 documents from 229 distinct authors and outlets in the published 24-hour sample.
Snapshot:
Lower scores mean more trust-leaning discussion; higher scores mean more concern. A score of 70 does not mean that 70% of people fear AI. A value near 50 can hide very different mixtures of trust and concern.

Read the source posts →The pipeline collects relevant posts, removes duplicates and assigns stance and concern labels. The formula combines those labels with bounded source and engagement weights. Smaller samples are pulled toward neutral, and model rankings require enough evidence before a score is published.
An AI company and its products are separate subjects. More trust in a company's discussion does not establish that its models are safer or better. Nor does a bigger score change prove that one particular story caused it.
Our sources do not form a representative survey. Search terms, platform access, language coverage and who chooses to post all affect the sample. Automated labels can be wrong. The displayed interval does not account for every selection bias or classification error. Independent validation on a human-labelled sample is still pending.

Original · EN · English · detectedAI is the worst invention ever. Worse than guns, explosives or nuclear bombs. The way it is being used will steal everyone's jobs, forcing us all into permanent unescapable poverty, while drowning us all in AI slop that is both completely untrue and completely garbage.

Original · EN · English · detectedyet again, this is why I am writing a book about eugenics in 2026. If techbros could torture us to death to power their AGI fantasies, they would. They would totally run data centers on furnaces burning dead babies if that was a viable option.

Original · EN · English · detectedincreasingly suspect that "alignment" is actually the wrong mental model for AI safety & we instead need to retvrn to 20th century x-risk tradition & guarantee mutually-assured destruction if it crosses us—HEMP, nukes under every data center, robots with thermite fail-safes. we can co-exist. ✌️☮️
